Recap: Moruka Designs Summer 2013 Trunk Show

This past Saturday August 10th, 2013 I had my very first trunk show for Moruka Designs Handbags at AK Couture Boutique and Beauty Bar in Brooklyn, NY.  I wanted a bright yet neutral look with some contrast so I went for this bright yellow empire dress, brown and green wedges, and gold accessories. I did my signature side sweep for the hair and neutral makeup using Bare Minerals as the foundation.

I did not know what to expect but did lots of advertising and gave it the 'ole college try. I totally forgot to take pics of the food(how could I forget that?) but I had wine, cheese, crackers, fruit and water. I wasn't nervous once the event actually started. The four hours went by fairly quickly.

I featured my Spring/Summer purses and wallets. There was a mix of my clients as well as AK Couture clients who wanted to get them some Moruka Designs digs. This bad boy was the star of the show. I sold out almost immediately on the two I had in this style.

I had fun interacting with all my customers. What I love the most is the feedback and about how much they liked the purses but I also enjoyed listening to their personal preferences/opinions. The turnout was great and I'm very happy with the overall result.

On Saturday April 27th, 2013 I attended the Unusual Star Jewelry Spring Trunk Show that took place at AK Couture Boutique and Beauty Bar in Brooklyn, New York. I wanted to be neutral but still wanted my purse to really pop. So the nude shoes & shirt along with thevpeach blazer created a great contrast for the green on the purse. My hair is in my signature side swept twist out. I also kept my makeup neutral with a pink lip.

Meet the lovely Claudia aka Jewelz; ear artist, designer and owner of Unusual Star Jewelry. Her unique jewelry is certainly made for the unusual star. They're super cool, colourful all handmade LEATHER jewelry. I didn't see that coming but I love her concept. It's truly the most unique jewelry I've ever seen because of her choice of materials. She designs earrings, necklaces, and bracelets that come in varying sizes and although some of her earrings are on the big side they are super light because of the leather, so wearing them would be easy on the earlobes. Now onto the festivities. There was wine, cupcakes, lots of ladies, some dudes, and a DJ that kept everything lively. Claudia was very attentive and friendly to all customers. AK Couture owner Zulema and her team were also very hospitable.
