Trim + Length Check

Last Thursday I got around to finally doing that trim I was talking about. I decided on trimming an inch to give my ends a fresh start. I washed and blow dried a couple days before then decided to flat iron so I could see everything and to do a length check. At first I was detangling in small sections with a comb and then ironing the sections twice; then after a break I got the idea to do the flat iron brush/chase method. This time I only had to pass the iron once on the rest of my hair. The brush stretched the hair just before the iron hit it so the heat was able to get through easier[move over Instyler!!!]. Then I used my split ender. I passed that along my hair four times on each section. It trims 1/8 to 1/4 inch at a time so at the most I trimmed an inch off each section. It worked well and this time I remembered to use loads of heat protectant. Remember this debacle?

The split ender isn't perfect, it does miss some spots but my ends look a lot better and I would have butchered my hair of I had used scissors to trim. I'd be here crying bout how I scalped myself. Some of my ends do still feel slightly rough but I think it may be from single strand knots and some splits are still there since the split ender can miss some spots. So I guess it's a not-so-fresh start? Additionally, you're actually not supposed to use any product at all in your hair with the split ender because that could dull the blades faster but after February's fiasco I wasn't taking chances so I loaded up on the IC Fantasia. So yea, don't follow what I did as gospel, I have to buy new blades sooner doing it this way. I'm actually due for a fresh set. So since this trim wasn't perfect my ends are a lot better then before.

BEFORE TRIM. Just about Armpit.

So I'm just above armpit now. I'm going to dust regularly because since my hair is natural now I can't see the split ends as easily as when I relaxed and I don't plan on straightening often, maybe 2 or 3 times a year? I don't know I'll work on that later. I have to work on roller setting.

I wore my hair like the above from last Thursday to Monday then cornrowed for my protective style.

The cornrows go all around except for the front where
I parted in half and put two cornrows side to side.
